Personal Health and Social Education

Through Personal, Social and Health Education we aim to give children the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to lead confident, healthy and independent lives and to become informed, active and responsible citizens. The subject develops positive self-esteem and promotes understanding and awareness of relationships with other people. Circle time, discussion and role play help provide the pupils with a very valuable insight into themselves and others around them. It prepares the children for an informal and active involvement in family, social, economic and civic life.

PHSE is addressed in several ways; the weekly PHSE lesson, weekly assemblies and through an element of Religious Education when the pupils consider social and moral dilemmas, right and wrong behaviour and the meanings of Bible stories.
