History

The children develop historical skills and concepts through appropriate and enjoyable activities. They are encouraged to develop an awareness and understanding of the past to make connections between themselves, their communities and the wider world. They are taught through the handling of artefacts, visits and visitors and by using enquiry, discussion and interpretation. From exploring current issues within a historical context they begin to make sense of the world around them and develop the skills and attitudes necessary for active involvement as citizens.
