U11/U10 Rugby vs. Tavistock and Summerhill - by Callum Champain (6W)

On Wednesday 17th March, Tavistock and Summerhill came to Fonthill to play a game of rugby. In the first half, we played really well but Tavistock scored the first try but didn’t convert it. We stayed focused and didn’t drop our heads. Tavistock scored another try and a conversion before we finally scored a try, from a line out right next to the try line. Max Farmer caught the ball and scored a try and conversion. Nick made some fantastic runs but just missed out on any tries. At the end of the first half it was 12-7 to Tavistock and Summerhill.

In the second half, we didn’t play as well and let Tavistock score 2 more tries and conversions. There were some good runs from Darcy Capps, Kieran Root, Lucas Day and Max Farmer. There was also some great tackling from me, Max and Darcy. The final score was 26 – 7 but it was a close game and we played well as a team. Thank you Mrs. Blackmore for a great match tea and for Mr. Simmonds for refereeing the match.

On 17th March, Fonthill played Great Walstead at Netball. It was a great game and we played really well. In the first quarter, there was good defending from Izzy and Georgia. Amelia Hawney was everywhere like a little whippet! Millie and Chloe played really well too.At the end of the first quareter it was 9-3 to us. In the second quarter, the passing and the movement was much better and Phoebe came on and played really well. We were pulled up for our footwork but we were still leading at hakf time. In the third and forth quarters, we got stronger and stronger and were thrashing Great Walstead. In the end the final score was 16 -10 to Fonthill.
