Won 6-0 - On Wednesday, 27 January, Fonthill Lodge travelled to Ardingly to play a game of Rugby. We all played very well and we had some fantastic tries; two were scored by Nick Bailey and one each by Darcy Capps, Matt Rogers, Lucas Day and Luke Byway. The final score was 6-0, our first game and first win of the season. It really feels like we have been playing together for two seasons! The man of the match was Nick Bailey. Thank you to Mr Simmonds and Mr Champain.

U11 Girls' Hockey vs. Cumnor House - by Amelia Ellis (6W) 

Won 5-3. On Wednesday, 27 January, Fonthill Lodge had a hockey match against Cumnor House at EGSCC. In the first half we played very well with some great passing. The first goal was scored by a pass from Amelia E to Amelia H. Cumnor then scored a goal. In the second half we scored another three goals, two from Amelia E and one from Amelia H. Phoebe and Bella played well as goalkeeper and Georgia, Millie and Ellie also played well. The final score was 5-3 to Fonthill Lodge. Thank you to Miss Bergset and Miss Lee for driving and umpiring us and, as always, to Mrs Blackmore for a lovely tea. 

U11b Rugby vs. Ardingly - by Nafim Choudhury (5C)

On Wednesday, 27 January, we travelled to Ardingly to play Rugby. In the first half Ardingly scored two tries and Fonthill Lodge scored one (Adam Mitchell). In the second half Ardingly scored four more tries but we scored two (Adam Mitchell again!). This brought the final score to 6-3 to Ardingly. We all played very well for the first game of the season and our first contact game. All the players did well and had a good time.

U10 Girls' Hockey vs. Cumnor House - by Alice Hellicar (5C)

Won 6-0. On Wednesday, 27 January, the U10s went to EGSCC to play Hockey against Cumnor House. The first half went well as we had a very strong team of Lucy, Lauren, Phoebe, Bryony, Harriet, Bobbi, Clemency and me. In the first half Harriet was in goal and in the second half Lucy was in goal. Lucy made a spectacular save as well as scoring three goals (when she wasn't goalkeeping!). Lauren also scored three goals and the final score was 6-0 to Fonthill Lodge. Thank you to Miss Lee for driving and Miss Bergset for coaching and umpiring us and to the kitchen staff for a lovely match tea, especially the doughnuts.
