| U10 Rounders vs. Ashdown House - by Lauren Workman (5C)
On
Wednesday 26th May, the U10 girls played Cumnor House at rounders. In
the first innings, we played really well and we batted first and got 4 ½
rounders. Then it was our turn to field and Bobbi caught 2 excellent catches. At
the end of the first innings, it was 4 ½ - 8 ½ to Cumnor House. In the
second innings, we got 10 ½ rounders. When it was our turn to field again, we
got a few girls out at the posts and Bobbi caught 2 more girls out. The final
score was 15 ½ to us and 17 ½ to Cumnor House. Thank
you to Miss Lee and Mrs. U11 Rounders vs. Cumnor House - by Rachel Dawson (6W) On

went in to bat first and Amelia E, Chloe, Phoebe and Ellie all scored rounders.
We scored 7 rounders in total. Then we fielded and Georgia and Izzy were
excellent as deeps. Millie got a few girls out at 4th post. Chloe
bowled well and Amelia E caught a few people out. Cumnor House scored 4 ½ and at
the end of the first innings, we were winning. In the
second half, Phoebe and Amelia hit the ball over the fence, and got rounders. We
got another 9 ½ rounders. Then Cumnor House went into bat again and scored 9 rounders.
The final score was 16 ½ to 13 ½. I think that we all played really well. Thank
you for Miss Lee for taking us there and Mrs.
On Tuesday 25th
May, Fonthill Lodge went to Cumnor House to play tennis. Max Farmer and Amelia
Ellis were pair number 1 and played 3 matches in total. They won the first 2
matches, 6-2, 6-5 but they lost the final match. They worked well as a pair and
there were some super serves and shots in all 3 matches. Callum Champain and Amelia Hawney were also paired. This is
Callum's report: On
Tuesday 25th May, we went to Cumnor House to play tennis. I was
paired with Amelia H and we played 3 matches. In the first match we played OK but needed to improve at
calling for the ball. Amelia H served well but unfortunately we lost 6 – 1.
In the second match, we were both hitting the ball much
better. It was close but we lost 6 – 2. In the final match, it was getting late and windy but we
still tried hard. It was a hard and long game with some great serves and
volleys. We lost this match too but, as it was our first match, we were very
proud of ourselves. Thanks you for Miss Lee for driving us there.
