Fonthill vs Tavistock

U11/ 10 v Tavistock

Won 3-0 An excellent performance in the pouring rain was the outcome as Fonthill comfortably recorded their first victory of the season. A much better balanced side, FHL were always in control and took the lead on the stroke of half time when Keiron Root smashed home the opener from the edge of the box whilst the defence held firm with Luke Byway playing excellently in his new role as centre back. Second half strikes from Darcy Capps and a fabulously struck own goal meant that FHL ran out worthy winners and this victory will hopefully bring some more confidence for the remaining games.

U8/9 v Tavistock

Won 4-0 and lost 1-0 Another pleasing set of results came on Wednesday when the U8/9 sides both played well and put in good performances. The first match saw FHL romp to a 4-0 victory with Max Murphy securing a hat trick but it was the team's all round performance that was most satisfying with the defence standing firm and not letting Tavistock near goal.

The second match was a closer affair with FHL putting in a great effort and only just coming up short. Considering the conditions, all the boys gave everything and showed how all the squad are improving with some pleasing passing and great commitment.
