Cricket - Fonthill Lodge Match Reports

On Wednesday 16^th June, the under 9/10s played Tavistock and Summerhill at Kwik cricket.

In the first innings, we fielded first and Tavistock scored 50 runs. We then scored 35 runs.

In the second innings, we fielded first again and Tavistock scored 56 runs. We then scored 46 runs. In the second innings, Macey scored 20 not out and we caught one player out to give us 5 extra points. Tavistock caught 3 of us out and therefore scored 15 extra points.

The final score was 86 to us and 121 to Tavistock and Summerhill. It was a good game, with some excellent bowling from Emma, Evie and Louise and lots of great team work.

U9/U8 Cricket vs. Handcross Park - Max Murphy (4P)

On Wednesday 16^th June, Fonthill Lodge’s U9/8 cricket team played Handcross Park. We lost the toss and they chose to field. The first pair was Toby S and Thomas Lawler and they batted well, although they got caught out once and bowled out once. Then out came Toby V and Thomas Lewis. Toby hit a massive 6 and a few other great shots. The other pairs all did well too. Josh got a 4. Then we bowled – Thomas Lawler, Josh, Thomas Lewis and Toby V did particularly well.  Toby V also caught someone out.

Well done to all the team. In the end, we lost but it was a good game. Thank you to Mr. Simmonds.
