| U9 Rounders Tournament at Tavistock and Summerhill - by Louise Higgs (4P)
On
Wednesday 9th June, the U9/8s played a rounders tournament at
Tavistock and Summerhill. We played 4 games in total, with each innings being 8
minutes long. In the
first game we played against Brambletye. Evie worked well at backstop, throwing
the ball to Scarlett at second post. Emma got a few people out at third post.
When batting, Emma, Jemima and Evie hit the ball well but we do need to practise
our batting. The final score was 4 – 71/2 to Brambletye, who went on to come
second in the tournament.
In the second game
we played Copthorne and the score was 5 – 7 to Copthorne. A very close game.
The third
game was against
We then played
Lingfield and our batting was excellent. We got a lot of their players out as
well. We won this game, 6 – 5. Well done to all
the players- it was a very good team effort. Thank you to Miss Lee for taking
us.
U10 Rounders vs. Copthorne - Alice Hellicar (5C) On Wednesday 9th June, the U10 girls went to Copthorne. In the first quarter, we were batting and scored 11½ rounders. They didn’t bowl consistently and so gave us 4 rounders. Clemency scored 3 rounders, Lauren scored 2 and Anna and I scored 1 each. Bobbi bowled very well. In the second quarter, we were fielding and Copthorne only scored 4½. In the
second innings, we were batting and scored 5 more rounders. We decided to take
some risks and so some of us were stumped out. Our final score was 16½ rounders.
Copthorne then batted again and scored 8 more rounders and so their final score
was 12½. Lucy made an excellent catch at backstop, especially as it was a
backwards hit. We won. Thanks you to Mrs. Cricket U11/10 vs. Ardingly - by Darcy Capps (6W) On
Wednesday 9th June, we played a cricket match against Ardingly. We
didn’t win the toss but luckily they chose to bat first and we were fielding.
There was some great bowling from Kieran and Darcy and we had a good start,
bowling people out for not very many runs. Well done to Lucas for getting 2
wickets and well done to Ryan too. Then it was our turn to bat with Nick and
Luke opening. We picked up a couple of runs and then Kieran went into bat and
got a 4 and a single. Then Callum and I went into bat and we rapidly got more
runs. In the end, Callum ended with 10 not out and I had 19 not out. We won.
Thank you to Mr. Simmonds |
