Admission to Fonthill-Lodge School

Children are admitted to Fonthill Lodge between 2 1/2 - 11 years of age. The total number of pupils in the school is the determining factor in the admission policy, especially at times when the school is over subscribed. There will, from time to time need to be limitations on the number of students entering the school. Average class size is approximately 15 pupils and it is the intention that no class size will exceed 20.

The school is extremely successful in getting pupils into the state or independent secondary school of their choice and the curriculum throughout Pre-prep and Junior is organised to achieve this success every year.

Fonthill is co-educational and there is no deliberate policy to favour the recruitment of boys or girls, other than the intention of maintaining the full co-educational character of the school.

The school is built on a tradition of Christian values. Children of all religions are openly embraced and specific arrangements can be made for individuals who may not wish to worship or attend assemblies.

Current and new siblings of children who are already at Fonthill and children of staff current and new will be accepted by right, irrespective of any over-subscription of the school roll, provided that all educational and social needs of the additional sibling(s) can be appropriately met in the school environment.
