The Fonthill Foundation is the new name for a charity which has been associated with education for more than two centuries. The Trustees met in September and agreed changes to the name and purposes of the Fonthill charity to reflect its new status. Fonthill will now become The Fonthill Foundation and will carry on the ethos and spirit of the Fonthill name. It is currently researching and beginning to develop educational partnerships both in the UK and overseas. Please note our new email address and legal details below.
Following the sale of the school in August 2011 charitable donations of school equipment were made to some 28 UK educational establishments and charities.
Donations were not limited to the UK however and a huge project over the Summer 2011 was to pack a 40’ container with school uniforms, books, teaching aids, sports and kitchen equipment to send to Lumo English Medium School and Wasso Primary School in Tanzania. Equipment and books were also chosen by representatives of the Ghana Education Project, the Imara-Ugandan Education Fund, Link Romania and School Aid India to benefit school children overseas.

A 40' container was packed up and sent on its way to schools in Wasso Tanzania
Chairman, Andrew Goodall visited Wasso to finalise delivery of the container and revisit the schools. He took a forward consignment of the uniform being sent to the school.
Fonthill Lodge School records are currently in the process of being catalogued. Once this process is complete the Trustees have arranged for their storage at West Sussex County Council central records office.
The Fonthill Trustees, having taken appropriate advice, have chosen Cheviot Asset Management to manage the capital fund representing the proceeds of sale of the school. This will enable the Fonthill Foundation to receive an income to spend on educational projects whilst preserving and growing the capital fund.
The Trustees of the Fonthill Foundation give their time and expertise without charge.
